Are you an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist looking for new challenges, career development and looking to apply your experience in mental health? We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to lead the SLT service at this location and to work within our CAMHS services at Cygnet Hospital Bury.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will provide high quality assessment and therapy and plan and implement programmes of care in individual or group settings using evidence-based practice, providing specialist clinical advice to others regarding the management and care of patients with communication difficulties and/or hearing impairment. You will lead the development of the SLT service at this location and oversee 3 other SLTs working in CAMHS and the Deaf services.

Location: Cygnet Hospital Bury Salary: up to £27,449 (pro rata) + £2000 welcome bonus & relocation package available Hours: 24 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to lead the SLT service at this location and to work within our CAMHS services at Cygnet Hospital Bury.

In this role you will:
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Deliver a clinical service for a complex client group, using a range of skills and knowledge in assessment and intervention methods within a coherent framework
  • Coordinate the delivery of teaching/training to staff at the site
  • Lead in the planning, development and evaluation of the Speech and Language Therapy service
  • Receive expert clinical supervision and peer support
  • Be part of a national network of 50 Cygnet-employed SLTs

We are looking for someone who is / has...
  • A Diploma/Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Post-graduate qualification in dysphagia (desirable)
  • HCPC-registered and membership with the RCSLT
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the client population (CAMHS)
  • Good understanding of core Speech and Language Therapy skills and current best practice in Speech and Language Therapy
