Are you a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist, with the skills to provide clinical and Managerial leadership for our team of forensic Occupational Therapists and Physical Fitness Practitioners? If so, this role is for you.
This position is based within our Oxford Clinic, comprising of three medium secure in-patient wards on the Littlemore Mental Health Centre site in Oxford.
This role is also eligible to receive an additional RSU allowance of £1,446 per annum.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will have extensive mental health and forensic experience and be able to demonstrate strong clinical leadership, educational and management skills. You will work closely with the Professional Lead OT to promote the role of Occupational Therapy within the multi-disciplinary team. The VdT Model of Creative Ability is used by this team, you would be expected to support staff to use this to guide their clinical practice.
A passion for research and embedding learning into practice is required to ensure that the service continues to grow and benefit from the investment committed to staff training. The service puts a strong emphasis on having a positive learning culture and encourages staff to develop skills and knowledge to reach their full potential. As the Clinical Lead you will have responsibility for ensuring continuing staff and service development.
You will be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy to patients detained under the Mental Health Act across three Medium Secure Wards, making sure that resources are used efficiently and effectively to support patients in achieving their goals.

Person Specification Essential & Deirable Essential
- 3/4 Years Experience of working as a registered OT in Mental Health Services
- Experience of holding a complex caseload within a forensic service
- Specialist raining in the VdT Model of Creative Ability
- Experience of conducting audits
- Experience of conducting research in a clinical field
- BSC or Dip COT in Occupational Therapy
- Experience of professional leadership and supervision of Occupational Therapy staff
