An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated pharmacy technician with a genuine interest in mental health to join the Pharmacy Team in the Bay Locality.
The post is based at the new purposed built mental health unit situated in Westmorland General Hospital Burton Rd, Kendal LA9 7RG. This is an acute adult mental health unit and the successful candidate will be working with a ward pharmacist on site to provide a high level of pharmaceutical care as part of the wider disciplinary team.
You should be enthusiastic and self -motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to prioritise own workload.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will also participate with audit, medicines reconciliation, medicines optimisation and discharge facilitation. You will take a lead in the oversight of medicines supply for the hospital and will support the use of the electronic prescribing system.
The Pharmacy Service within Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust is a well-established team with a wealth of expertise in both Mental Health and Community services and continues to provide high quality clinical input into all aspects of the health provision delivered by the organisation. We are a supportive team committed to the education and development of our expanding service.

- oBTEC Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences / NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- oCurrent registration with GPhC
- oBTEC Accuracy Checking Qualification (or equivalent)
- oTo have significant working experience in a relevant field of pharmacy practice
- oKnowledge of Dispensary and Patient Services.
- oAbility to maintain and develop good working relationships within ward/pharmacy teams.
- oCommunicate calmly and effectively with service users and carers.
