An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join the CAMHS Service for Adolescents and Families in Enfield (SAFE) Team. We support individuals to deepen and diversify their specialist psychological therapy skills and pursue specific areas of interest or service development projects where appropriate. We also hold regular CPD and service development days across the whole service.

We welcome applications from enthusiastic, highly-motivated and resourceful individuals who are keen to work as part of a team. Clinical supervision will be provided by a senior Clinical Psychologist. We are seeking candidates with a commitment to evidence-based practice, young people's participation, routine outcomes monitoring and promoting shared decision making with children and families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take referrals for assessment and psychological treatment within the multidisciplinary team. This may include individual, group and family work as well as indirect work and consultation to schools and other agencies. Strong engagement skills and the ability to assess and manage risk, including self-harm and safeguarding concerns are essential. The role is mainly clinic-based but will involve some work in other settings where appropriate.

The post holder provides a Child & Adolescent Psychology service to young people and their families referred to Enfield CAMHS SAFE, offering highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment to young people with a wide range of presentations and complex needs. To offer specialist assessment and treatment to young people and their families referred to Enfield CAMHS/SAFE, drawing on particular areas of expertise.

Person Specification EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS Essential
  • Psychology professional registration
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or equivalent prior to 1996)
  • Membership of HCPC
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
  • Training in clinical supervision
Experience And Knowledge Essential
  • Two years post qualification clinical psychological assessment and intervention
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups
  • Experience of the application of psychology in different cultural contexts
  • Experience of working with children / young people within CAMHS
SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention
  • Ability to undertake clinical risk assessment and to work within safeguarding procedures
  • Skills in using computerized systems, including MS Office & clinical record systems.
Desirable
  • Ability to teach and train others
