Trust Grade Doctor North Devon CAMHS

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant multidisciplinary team, develop your special interest and psychiatry practice while having the best of what Devon offers. We welcome candidates wishing to work less than full time. We are looking for candidates able to start in October 2022 or as soon as possible.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contributing to the assessment, formulation and development of management plans for young people

2. To work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in providing appropriate care.

3. To allocate time for carrying out home visits, when appropriate.

4. To attend to crisis situations and manage these effectively with supervision.

5. Be available to provide appropriate advice to other team members.

6. To attend weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings and referral meetings.

7. To be flexible and accessible in providing appropriate care to the patients.

8. To undertake clinical administration tasks appropriate to patients care.

9. To contribute to service audit, evaluation and development

10. To comply with the trust policies and procedures.

The service has an active undergraduate medical programme, with medical students (Years 3, 4 & 5) from University of Exeter Medical School (UESM) rotating through the team.

The successful candidate will be expected to become involved with ongoing undergraduate medical education activities, including research if interested.

  • Completed pre-registration year (or equivalent outside the UK)
Desirable
  • Experience working in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Qualifications Essential
  • MB BS or equivalent
Registration Essential
  • Registration with GMC
Training Essential
  • At least 1-year general professional training at Foundation level
Desirable
  • Completion of FY1/FY2 training programme or equivalent
  • Experience of training in Psychiatry
Clinical Skills Essential
  • Competent in history taking and mental state examination skills
Desirable
  • Accepts responsibility and able to take leadership for emergencies
Team working Skills Essential
  • Good team worker
Desirable
  • Able to establish good working relationships with other members of a multidisciplinary team
