We are looking for 2 committed practitioners who would like to further their studies to train with South West CYP IAPT. We are offering two places to study place on their CBT for Depression and Anxiety programme (PGDIP). It is aimed at staff who work with a range of presentations in their daily practice and would equip you with a BABCP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma. The training is fully funded and we would anticipate you being offered a substantive contract with community CAMHS on successful completion.

The course runs for one year, between January and December. This training course is funded by Health Education England, you would be studying at the University of Exeter 2 days a week and working in a children's mental health service 2-3 days per week.

'KSA' stands for 'Knowledge Skills and Attitude' and involves completing a portfolio throughout the year to show how your current skills match the level necessary for a core profession. To be eligible for the KSA route you would need to have a minimum of 2 years' relevant full-time equivalent therapeutic experience in a mental health setting. We can be flexible regarding geography for these posts but would anticipate one was located in St Austell.

We will consider applicants from a range of professionals and those with suitable experiences in children's mental health according to the CYP-IAPT Knowledge and skills framework.

Main duties of the job

INTERVIEWS 24TH OCTOBER, EXPECTED START DATE 12TH DECEMBER 2022.

This is a training role within the Child and Young Persons Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT). The post-holder will work within Cornwall CAMHS service at Cornwall Partnership Trust, providing interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role at the University of Exeter.

This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT core principles and an evidence based intervention consistent with their training course. The post- holder would be expected to attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post and continue to work within the CAMHS service on qualification.

Level 6 qualification, and a core profession recognised by BABCP.

OR

Eligibility to complete the course via the KSA route. Level 6 qualification is usually an undergraduate degree or equivalent.

• Professional qualification - RN (Mental Health / Child) / OT / Social Worker / Psychologist or equivalent experience to meeting CYP-IAPT knowledge and skills framework)
• Post graduate Qualification in Child & Adolescent Mental Health or evidence-based intervention
• Experience of working with children and adolescents with complex mental health needs in a child-focussed multi-agency setting
• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency setting
• Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment
• Current professional registration - NMC, HCPC

Desirable

• Qualification in a relevant intervention
• Up to date with legislation policy relating to CAMHS
• Evidence of plans for further professional updating

• Can communicate and establish effective working relationships with children and young people and their families
