If so we are an innovative service, implementing an exciting vision for CYP's emotional wellbeing and mental health (EWMH) in Cardiff & Vale.

Our Single Point of Access (SPOA) launched in November 2021 and is an integral part of our service, acting as the front door to EWMH services for CYP in Cardiff & Vale. You will be part of a growing team providing key services such as triaging referrals, making recommendations and signposting to ensure CYP are directed to the most appropriate service. You will also offer telephone consultations to professionals, providing advice on whether a referral to specialist services will meet an individual's needs and for information on the wider support available.

Our vision is to embed a 'no wrong door' approach. The SPOA has been introduced to streamline processes and enhance access to services. You will bring your experience to help us shape this essential service, ensuring we best meet the needs of CYP. You will have access to regular peer discussion, clinical supervision, team meetings and training to support your development in this role.

Main duties of the job

• Provide specialist evidence based consultation advice to professionals, patients and their families and liaison with third sector services, voluntary organisation and education and service user lead organisations.
• Mental health screening, triage and assessment.
• Signposting and onward referral to relevant services as identified at triage.
• To work with other clinicians, in providing effective, evidence based therapeutic care and delivery of care pathways.
• Provision of information for service users and carers.
• Short term therapeutic work with clients with mild to moderate or stable severe and enduring mental health problems;
• The post holder is required to be flexible and adaptable in order to respond to the diverse and demanding nature of this post.
• To provide a commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

• Degree plus a Post Grad Diploma and professional qualification

• Specialist Qualification in CBT, FT or other appropriate therapy

• Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with clients with mental health problems and working with children and families in particular.
