This is an exciting time to join our Trust. South West London St. Georges is at the beginning of an exciting journey of transforming our community mental health services. In 2021/22 the Trust benefitted from significant investment to strengthen mental health service provision across all our boroughs. Over the course of the next three years we will work with our community partners to establish integrated delivery hubs bringing together primary and secondary health teams with voluntary sector providers across each of our boroughs, beginning with Sutton.

About the team:

We are a recovery support team and provide support in the community to people with severe and enduring mental illness.

Our team is multi disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Dr's, Psychologists, Recovery and support workers, Peer Support Workers and OT's

We are a fun dynamic, supportive team with a good reputation of high-quality care and standards. Our team has a great ethos and supported approach to working.

About us

About the role:

Within the role you will undertake the coordination of care being involved in assessment, treatment delivery, and partnership working. As part of the multi disciplinary team you will work with individuals and their families or carers providing support, education, family work and evidence-based interventions aimed towards promoting recovery. You will work with people aged 18 and upwards in a service which aims to work with other agencies including primary care to raise awareness of mental health and to reduce the length of time people remain untreated.

To supervise, instruct and teach junior and unqualified staff and students

To undertake duties designed to extend clinical and managerial expertise as delegated by the manager when required.

To provide a full care management service to clients and their carers.

Person Specification Education and Qualification Essential
  • Registered Adult Nurse and/or Registered Mental Health Nurse and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Master's degree
Experience and Knowledge Essential
  • Experience of researchbased/reflective practice, e.g. understanding and ability to use supervision to reflect on skills, attitude and knowledge and develop these by using evidence based practice
  • Significant relevant clinical experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience as a preceptor / mentor
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and audit
  • Knowledge of relevant Professional and Clinical legislation
  • Experience of taking responsibility for a ward / clinical unit.
  • Experience of engaging / supporting clinical research projects
  • Experience of supporting practice development in clinical areas
  • Experience of teaching. e.g. lecturer practitioner/preceptorship
  • Experience of recruitment and selection of staff

  • Ability to fulfil all the requirements of the role (including physical )
