Powys tHB is a small rural Health Board without a District General Hospital within its borders. It is therefore unique and actively supports new ways of working, in particular innovative ideas that fulfil the ambition to provide good and safe care to children as close to home as possible. Due to geographical considerations, Powys CAMHS is divided into two sub teams with one based in Newtown in the North of the county and the other based in Brecon. The service is working towards providing some Powys wide services from acentral hub, including a new community assessment and treatment team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder's main role will be to part of the leadership team whose aim is to deliver child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) in South Powys and to work with the CAMHS teams, the consultant psychiatrist in North Powys and the Clinical Director to develop and provide cross Powys outreach intensive services for the most unwell children, including those with eating disorders.
