These new roles created to help us deliver our plans to transform and improve our community mental health services, as part of the NHS Long Term Plan. The transformation of our community mental health services will lead to truly integrated health and social care for adults in Barnet, Enfield and Haringey who have serious mental illness.
Our transformation plans are supported by £25m in funding and will mean the roll-out over the next three years of multi-disciplinary teams of experts working within the new Primary Care Networks and offering wraparound, holistic care to our service users and wider community. Our aim is to support the whole person as they live with, or recover from, mental illness and to offer them support with other challenges they may face, such as debt, relationship problems, housing, education or training. We will also focus resources on reaching those who currently face obstacles in getting the help they need.
Main duties of the job
To work closely with the Enfield South Locality Team to establish occupational therapy-specific roles in the team. You'll hold a caseload and work as an occupational therapist across Enfield South locality hub, to provide assessment, plan and implement interventions, evaluate the treatment and ensure safe discharge.
We will support you to provide both specialist occupational therapy assessments and offer a strength-based, recovery-focused approach with the aim of enhancing daily living skills, and engagement in meaningful and purposeful activities for service users across the community. In addition, you'll work within the Enfield South Locality Team to provide specific time-limited interventions with clear goals established with the service user and in conjunction with the supporting clinical team.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential
- Dip. COT or BSc OT
- Registered with HCPC
- Qualifications in specific activities e.g. craft, gym etc.
- Mandatory Training
- Experience of group and individual occupational therapy interventions
- Experience of working in an MDT
- Post graduate experience of working with people with mental health conditions relevant to specialty of post
- Experience of using standardised assessments, e.g. MOHOST
- Working knowledge of the occupational therapy process
- Ability to apply and develop core OT skills
- Experience of using MOHO assessments i.e. MOHOST, ACIS.
- Experience in Recovery principles, e.g. Recovery Star
- Ability to promote self and profession
- Empathy for people with mental health problems
- Experience with service user involvement
- Experience with external network involvement
