Band 5 Occupational Therapist - Working 5 days per week. Part-time hours would be considered.

Based at Corby Community hospital

This is an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified OT (or soon to be qualified) to gain extensive experience in the field of general and stroke inpatient physical health rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have their own caseload, working as an autonomous practitioner and will be responsible for supervision and delegation to assistant therapy team members. May be required to carry the whole ward caseload in the absence of other occupational therapy colleagues and prioritise workload accordingly.

The post holder will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and other services to ensure patients are discharged safely. This will involve extensive liaison with patients, family members and participation in family meetings.

Reporting to senior occupational therapists and ultimately to the Therapy Team Lead enabling them to deliver services effectively and efficiently to patients and service users.

The post holder will lead on all aspects of occupational therapy within their caseload with support from senior colleagues and deliver of high-quality therapeutic interventions that meets the needs of the patients. They will be involved in assessing, developing, planning, implementing and evaluating the interventions, participating in the supervision and appraisal process and in own professional development and that of team members.
