Southern Health NHS Foundation provides specialist mental health services, learning disability services, community physical health services including community hospitals and specialist inpatient units, and primary care across Hampshire, and is one of the largest providers of its kind in the country.

We provide care to around 240,000 people each year, and employ over 6000 people, including doctors, nurses, therapists and support staff. We are part of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainability & Transformation Plan. We have an active research department and are a teaching trust, delivering training and teaching to trainees from a range of clinical backgrounds.

Southern health NHS foundation trust is seeking to recruit a consultant forensic psychiatrist. This is a replacement post but could involve working in Ravenswood House MSU, Southfield LSU, community forensic or the Isle of Wight prisons.

The consultants will provide senior medical advice, support, consultancy and clinical leadership to the inpatient multidisciplinary team. Applications from those who wish to work less than full-time are welcomed. Applicants will need to have a CCT in forensic psychiatry.

Successful applicants will become part of a larger established group of consultants in the specialist division of the trust.

We believe we have a lot to offer and look forward to speaking with you about the possibilities. We strongly recommend an informal visit to the units prior to attending an interview.

For an informal conversation please contact Dr Simon Hill, Medical Director specialized services division on 02380 874600 or simon.hill@southernhealth.nhs.uk
