Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CWP) are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Band 6 Clinical Lead Nurse to join the team at Ancora House.

Ancora House is an in-patient child and adolescent mental health service, consisting of 30 beds, split across two wards: Coral and Indigo. We are a general adolescent unit, that also supports young people with an eating disorders.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a supportive and knowledgeable multi-disciplinary team, working on a rotational shift basis. This includes days, nights and twilight shifts. The post offers the successful applicant the exciting opportunity to join this team in providing the highest quality of care for our service users. We have an excellent training programme.

The individual must be able to demonstrate an understanding and application of the 6 C's in practice, these being Care; Compassion; Competence; Communication; Courage and Commitment.

Ancora House is based on the Countess of Chester Health Park Site approximately 1.5 miles from Chester city centre.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. Please note that DBS costs will be waived for applicants who are being recruited for COVID-19 reasons.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • NMC Registered Nurse RMN or RNLD
  • Evidence of Continued Professional development.
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • High level of clinical expertise.
  • Understanding and appreciation of national policy and health/social care issues.
  • Clear understanding of social inclusion/equality/diversity
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity within the healthcare setting
  • Awareness of current mental health issues, debates and practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of physical health needs.
  • A willingness to undertake further training.
  • Knowledge of the MHA and MCA.
Experience Essential
  • Significant experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Supervision experience.
  • Working with service users with severe mental health problems utilising user/carer involvement.
  • Secure services experience
