An exciting opportunity within the CAMHS Swansea Bay Team based in Neath Port Talbot Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the CAMHS Crisis Liaison Team in Swansea Bay. Ensuring that timely effective nursing care is provided for a children and young people referred to the crisis team.

The post holder will be responsible for providing leadership to the team.

The post holder will provide line management, caseload management.

The post holder will be responsible for recruitment to the team.

The post holder will liaise with local authority, third sector partners and clinical staff as needed.

The post holder will be responsible for managing sickness and absence within the team.

The post holder will be responsible for allocating and delegation of tasks within the team.

The post holder will be responsible for management of complaints, investigating as necessary and providing feedback to senior nurse.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must have the calibre to work at a fast pace, and support the Senior Nurse in leading a diverse team of nurses based within the Swansea Bay CAMHS.

The applicant will have line management responsibilities, help lead on the governance agenda which would include: the management of complaints, health and safety, performance, quality and risk. The successful candidate will also assist in professionally developing the nursing team.

The post-holder must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse /Registered Learning Disability nurse; possess highly specialised knowledge to Degree Level; possess specialised and in-depth professional knowledge relevant to the sphere of responsibilities; have experience of working with Multi-Disciplinary and Multi-Agency Teams at an operational & strategic level.

The post-holder must be flexible to the service, motivated and innovative with good interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively. They will be an active member of the LMT (Locality Management Team) and contribute to the strategic vision of the service.

The post holder will also undertake responsibility for some clinical work, providing clinical advice support to others and joint work where required.
