Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse/Registered Mental Health Nurse, Band 5 Fixed Term Contract/Secondment - 18 months Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual to work within an existing Multi-professional Team as a Registered Nurse Band 5 for 18-month cover for maternity leave for an organisation dedicated to supporting its' staff to deliver excellent care.
The Adult Learning Disability (ALD) directorate is equally committed to ensuring all staff, service users and carers have a tangible sense of these values in way services are delivered.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to appoint a qualified RNLD/RMN with experience in any the following areas.: -
The Registered Nurse in Atlas House, is an opportunity to join and provide a therapeutic inpatient support, improving the lives of people with a learning disability. The service prides itself on multi-disciplinary working and the clinical Charge nurse plays a key role as part of this team. Atlas House blends nursing, medical and therapeutic approaches to provide evidence-based person-centred care to up to ten people with learning disabilities at a time, who require specialist inpatient support.

- Working knowledge of current issues/agendas facing inpatients stings like Atlas House
- Experience of multi-professional collaboration including working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations.
- Experience/knowledge of the Care Programme Approach (CPA), Care and Treatment Review (CTR) and experience of working and supervising staff within a multi-disciplinary team will be an advantage.

- To work under the direction of senior staff to deliver and constantly strive to improve the care of people with a learning disability admitted to the unit
- Provide visible, high calibre nursing care and support to the Specialist inpatient service at Atlas House within a multi-disciplinary framework for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health problems, challenging behaviours, and additional complex needs.
- The post holder will join an established nursing team to contribute to the development of good clinical practice promoting the clinical and professional development of staff to ensure they provide holistic and evidence-based care The post holder will also provide deputy management duties within this unit and participate in the overall development of the Service.
- Ensure high standards of evidence-based, patient centred care is maintained.
- To promote good communication within the team and liaise with external agencies.
- Always support the Clinical Charge Nurses
