Fixed Term Consultant in Child and Adolescent Forensic Psychiatry

8 Programmed Activities per week (32 hours), fixed term for 12 months



South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Fixed Term Consultant Psychiatrist to join Child and Adolescent Forensic Team based at Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients live well, and will be an integral role within the CAMHS team

The postholder will work an experienced team of professionals, to ensure that all patients receive high quality care. The team comprises of multitude of experienced professionals, who are looking forward to welcoming a new Psychiatrist.

The role will appeal to individuals who wish to work in a community team and to be involved in service development. This role will be involved in shaping the future of services within the Wakefield area and the medical education team are keen to work with the appointee to become a recognised trainer.

As a senior member of the team you will have an excellent opportunity to help shape our services and drive change within the organisation and you will be well supported by the senior leadership team.

We offer local CPD events such as the JAPS (joint academic psychiatric seminar) a monthly meeting for trust-wide psychiatrists with a wide range of clinical topics covered. Additionally, we offer an in-house mentoring programme and leadership and management development activities. We are also happy to look at supporting those with interests in research, whether new or an ongoing research project.

Continuing professional development is a high priority for the Trust and you will be strongly encouraged to continue with further education in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Your timetable will include a dedicated session for continuing professional development to ensure your training and development needs are prioritised.
