We are pleased to advertise 2 Clinical Lead/Advanced Practitioner posts within the York CAMHS Team. One within our East team and one within West. These will be posts that support our generic Community CAMHS Teams.

To support our patients and team we are keen to recruit 2 experienced Clinicians to lead the current clinical work of our treatment teams alongside developing the clinical skills of the service, whilst working alongside the Team Manager and Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement new and innovative ways of delivering evidence based treatments.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking 2 people who will:
  • Be passionate about improving the delivery of evidence based treatments for children, young people and their families.
  • Be a driven, enthusiastic and forward thinking leader.
  • Have a clear interest in the development of the clinical skills of the staff of our CAMHS service.
  • Have skills using interventions such as CBT, DBT and/or the creative arts.
  • Have extensive experience working in CAMHS services.
  • Have significant experience of working with clinicians to achieve service improvement.
  • Have a range of experience of leading projects or other clinically based initiatives which will have made a contribution to delivering innovative and high quality services to children and young people.
  • Hold a relevant Professional Registration (RMN, SW, OT etc) and be registered with a governing body.

About us

We have 2 supportive leadership teams and our MDT has a variety of professional backgrounds including Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology, Nursing, Social work and OT's.

  • Providing Clinical Leadership through shared case holding, teaching, clinical supervision
  • Working with the Team Manager / SLT to develop and implement a clear plan for the development of clinical skillsanddeveloping a clinical competency framework
  • Holding a small caseload of highly complex cases

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Nationally recognised, broadly-based, health or social work qualification which must be registered with the appropriate governing body, such as the HCPC, NMC
  • Degree level qualification or diploma
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent
  • Leadership or management qualification or
  • Masters level qualification
  • Accredited training in evidence based psychological treatment
Experience Essential
  • Working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working in community mental health services
  • Working with people with a range of mental health / wellbeing needs
  • Experience of operationally managing services
  • Experience of working with looked after children
  • Experience of working within education settings
  • Experience of developing services
  • Research and/or audit experience
Knowledge Essential
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of health, education, social services and the voluntary sector and have the ability to work in partnership with other
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of safety factors in the management of self-harming behaviours and safeguarding issues and have the skills to be able to apply knowledge appropriately with complex
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of current legislation including the Children Act 1989, 2004, the Human Rights Act 1998' safeguarding of children and adults,
  • Demonstrate knowledge of a range of models of behavioural and mental disorder including the contribution of social, physical and development factors, the social perspective on mental disorder, the implications of mental disorder and treatments for clients, their relatives and carers.
  • Ability to apply therapeutic skills with young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to provide supervision to less experienced colleagues.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of recent Government initiatives and understanding of how to apply these in practice.
