An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team at The Orchards in Hemel Hempstead. We have a Band 5 to 6 Occupational Therapy development post which is the first of its kind in a Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team in Hertfordshire. The postholder will be supported by the Band 7 OT in Crisis services and will receive guidance from the wider team. This role involves individual and group Occupational Therapy treatment. Therapy settings include the therapy unit, service users' homes and their local community. Therefore, access to a vehicle is essential.

Main duties of the job

We welcome applications from Band 5 OTs to wish to develop their skills whilst in post as they are supported to become a Band 6 Occupational Therapist. We also welcome existing Band 6 Occupational Therapists wishing to gain experience in a specialist setting, where they will be able to use core Occupational Therapy skills as they encourage and promote engagement in activities of daily living. The successful postholder would be joining an established therapeutic service which has been through transformation in the last two years.

About us

Successful appointment to the post, will mean you join the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team where Occupational Therapy is central to the therapies provided by the service. You will have access to guidance and support from existing crisis Occupational Therapists across the county and you will be given time to participate in both internal and external training opportunities.

The Crisis Team is an essential part of the Acute Care Pathway within Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust who are rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC and were the 2021 winners of the HSJ Mental Health Trust of the Year award.
