The post will identify opportunities and provide advise on how data, insight and intelligence can add value to the organisation and drive this forward across a range of operational and corporate services. The post will support the further development of internal and external automated dashboards to ensure information can be easily interpreted and utilised to improve services and reflects the needs of all stakeholders.

The post will work alongside the Data Visualisation Leads to develop requirements for automated dashboards to support and improve the data and insight maturity levels across the trust. This role will be expected to have the ability to respond quickly to requests and present information in the most dynamic and meaningful way, ensuring complex information is easily understandable and appropriate to the audience to inform service improvement. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication skills working with directors, senior managers and clinicians across the Trust and across organisational boundaries. The post holder will act as a key BI point of contact for operational services and colleagues across corporate services.

Main duties of the job

  • Contribute to a trustwide data insight transformation roadmap across operational and corporate services, getting buy in and support from senior leaders to improve trustwide data insight maturity
  • Ensure the review of current outputs from the Business Intelligence team to ensure it is required, relevant and delivers the most efficient and effective methods of data insight to support services.
  • Lead on projects involving the development of data and insight/intelligence specifications based on the needs and outcomes of services, working in collaboration with colleagues across a range of different service areas
  • Lead the further development of internal and external automated dashboards alongside the Data Visualisation Leads to ensure information can be easily interpreted to improve services and reflects the needs of all stakeholders
  • Respond quickly to requests for data analysis/performance information and present this at the highest level of quality to senior leaders
  • Ensure robust procedures are followed across the team to validate all data and information reported
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of national reporting requirements in relation to mental health.
  • Support the Data Insight Strategic Lead to ensure all key stakeholder needs are met
  • Establish strong working relationships with Care Group AD's, Heads of Operations and Business Managers to support accurate recording and reporting and understanding of data

Job description Job responsibilities

  • Analyse a wide variety of complex data from multiple sources and scrutinise and interpret results to inform service delivery
  • Provide advice to staff within the Trust at all levels on issue relating to data insight and analysis ensuring that the advice provided is communicated in such a way as to facilitate an appropriate level of understanding
  • Represent the Business Intelligence team in projects with operational and corporate services to ensure the correct data is provided and analysis/insight support to inform service improvement
  • Knowledge of data modelling techniques and how this could be used to drive improvement in services
  • Support review of published Business Intelligence data in relation to Trust services and highlight to Data Insight Strategic Lead and Performance Lead

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Degree or equivalent and / or relevant technical experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable
  • Postgraduate managerial qualification
Experience Essential
  • Experience of implementing mechanisms that demonstrate the value data, insight and intelligence can provide to support decision making
  • Experience of presenting complex information and analysis to staff at all levels throughout an organisation
  • Experience of leading data insight projects that involve multi-disciplinary staff to improve service delivery
  • Experience in use of national guidance / forums to improve local insights around data e.g national benchmarking
  • Experience in the development of reports to support service development
  • Experience of working with stakeholders to improve engagement in data insight and analysis
Desirable
  • Experience of managing staff including PDP, appraisal, sickness management and other personnel issues
Skills Essential
  • Ability to analyse highly complex data and draw conclusions from this as to whether this indicates good or poor performance
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
