Innovative, Creative and Enthusiastic?

Bring your leadership skills to a supportive and collaborative community learning disability team and employ innovation and psychological skills to help shape the MDT to work as effectively as it can.

We are looking for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join our Community Learning Disability Team (CLDT) in East Hampshire, Fareham. The role is a combination of direct and indirect clinical work, alongside psychological management and leadership.

We are looking for someone with extensive clinical experience. Managerial and leadership responsibilities are a key aspect of this role, it is expected that you will possess excellent leadership skills. Experience of MDT working is a must, as is the ability to demonstrate positive approaches in leading a team within the learning disability sector.

The successful candidate will be part of the wider senior management team and lead on service and strategic development, developing the psychological informed approaches in addition to providing line management, supervision, consultation and training to staff within psychology team, the wider multi-professional team and other agencies.

Applicants with sufficient experience for a Band 8C post are encouraged to apply, and we will also consider applicants who have relevant experience and the potential to match the person specification for a development role as a Band 8B. In the latter case, we would look to develop the applicant into the full 8C role, subject to achieving the competencies required of an 8C role.

The team base is situated near Fareham, close to the cosmopolitan waterfront city of Portsmouth and we are able to offer a relocation package of up to £8000.

We have good supervision structures and access to CPD to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We have strong links with the Doctoral Training Programme in Clinical Psychology at the University of Southampton and so opportunities to become involved in the facilitation of external teaching and to supervise Trainee Clinical Psychologists, are available.

We look forward to hearing from you!
