We have an exciting opportunity in Hywel Dda University Health Board with an MSK vacancy based in the county of Pembrokeshire. This post will be rotational across the county giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work in differing areas of the MSK service.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who has the appropriate level of clinical skills in the field of MSK.

The University Health Board proactively supports training and development both as part of internal and external CPD.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with MDT teams across the MSK pathway. The physiotherapy service has strong clinical networks and integrated pathways that span primary and secondary care. This includes specialist primary care MSK services, CMATS and strong links with consultant led secondary/tertiary specialties. Our teams are positive, forward thinking and dynamic.

This post is advertised as a Band 6, however applicants who do not currently hold all the necessary competencies to a Band 6 level are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be appointed under Annex 21 rules whereby 75% of the top of Band 6 will be payable during the period from 12 to 18 months. Applicants would be supported to develop their competencies required to fulfil the role within 12-18 months. Failure to achieve the competencies in the designated timeframe could result in re-deployment.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:

Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales
