An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive, Deputy Team Manager to join our community mental health team based in Bideford, North Devon.

The position available is full-time 37.5 hours per week and our service delivery hours are between Monday - Friday 9-5pm but would consider flexible working options.

We are looking to appoint an ambitious Deputy Team Manager. You should have significant clinical experience of working within a mental health setting. The post holder will contribute to the day to day management and operational processes within the team to ensure the safe and effective management of patient care across our service in the Torridge area.

You will be working closely with the Adult Mental Health Community Team Manager to manage a multi-disciplinary team which consists of community psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatrists to deliver mental health services.

About you
This role would suit someone who would like to broaden their experience, develop management skills, career progression and seeking an opportunity to take on new challenges.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues as well as external stakeholders. As a valued member of the team, you will help us to ensure the service runs smoothly and provide effective leadership and management of staff and resources, deputizing for the team manager in their absence.

As a team we are committed to providing a service that is focused on enablement, promoting independence and quality of life for our clients. You will share in the day to day management of the team and the supervision of staff members. You will also hold a reduced caseload of patients who have more complex needs and will work alongside the client and their personal support network as well as other professionals within the service and partner agencies within health, social care and the voluntary sector to ensure positive outcomes.

We are also committed to quality improvement and you will be expected to play a key part in developing projects to improve the experience of patients and carer’s and the service we offer. You will need to be hardworking and flexible and be able to think on your feet in what can be a fast-paced environment.

You will also receive training in all aspects of supporting the needs of people with mental health issues and have the support of experienced and supportive colleagues.

We’re looking for someone who is calm, organized, forward-thinking, and enthusiastic with excellent ‘people’ skills. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential as well as a ‘positive mental attitude’.

The location
Your base will be in Bideford, however under the current COVID-19 conditions this may be subject to alternative arrangements/change for example home working.
