We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Eating Disorder Practitioner within our Bolton Eating Disorder Team . We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assess and provide treatment for people with a variety of eating disorders .

You will work closely with an MDT and be provided with clinical supervision and support to deliver evidence based interventions

We are part of a larger eating disorder service so this provides an opportunity to develop a broad understanding of community treatment of eating disorders across the CWP footprint

We are a small team based in Breightmet Health Centre in Bolton , We are currently delivering face to face therapy and offer a wide range of interventions.

We are very supportive of each other and encourage team members to work reflectively and creatively with this client group

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job will be

Assessing clients with a potential diagnosis of a moderate to severe eating disorder.

Delivering evidence based therapy interventions ( with support and clinical supervision)

Providing monitoring of seriously unwell eating disorder clients

Contributing to a MDT on a regular basis

Managing own caseload with support

The successful applicant will work with clients individually offering a variety of interventions .

They will deliver individual therapy

They will monitor patients physical health

They will refer on to appropriate alternative mental health support services as required.

They will work collaboratively with other mental health services , eg home based treatment , IAPT and recovery teams

They will act as care coordinators

They will risk assess , plan care and evaluate care delivered

They will use outcomes to evaluate care delivered

They will contribute to the MDT

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. Please note that DBS costs will be waived for applicants who are being recruited for COVID-19 reasons.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Professional qualification (e.g. Nursing, Occupational therapy, Counselling)
  • Registration (with NMC,HPC , or Accreditation with BACP)
  • Additional post qualification study in a specific psychotherapeutic approach e.g. Post Qualification Framework Module or Post Graduate Certificate or willingness to work towards this qualification
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • Knowledge of NICE Guidelines and other guidance /policy documents influencing Eating Disorder Service Delivery
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working in Mental Health post qualification /accreditation
  • Ability to carry and maintain own caseload
Desirable
  • Experience of working with people with Eating Disorders
  • Experience of delivering 1:1 Psychological interventions
