The role of this post holder is to provide speech and language therapy to adults with disorders of communication and swallowing. The post holder is responsible for assessing, diagnosing and managing patients referred with communication and/or swallowing disorders associated with acquired & progressive neurological disorders, trauma, Learning disabilities, and palliative care and stammering. Patients are seen in acute, rehabilitation and community settings; this includes the wards in Nobles Hospital, outpatient clinics in Nobles Hospital, Ramsey District Cottage Hospital, Nursing and Residential Homes and where necessary, domiciliary visits to private homes. This is a varied clinical role which involves working in an acute and outpatient settings. This will include domiciliary visits within care homes, hospice and within the service users own home.
You will be an autonomous practitioner responsible for the assessment, diagnosing and management of adult patients referred with communication and/or swallowing disorders associated with neurological disorders, trauma, voice disorders and stammering. You will also use evidence based/client centred principles to implement and evaluate Speech and Language intervention. What can this role offer me?
