Team Leader, Bluebell House, Tier 3 Specialist Personality Disorder Service.

Bluebell House Tier 3 Specialist Personality Disorder Service, offers group treatment in the community and is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, talented and clinically experienced full-time team lead.

This post offers a unique experience as a Team Leader, with an opportunity to join our established and friendly team, currently made up of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Arts Therapies and Peer Support. You will help to continue to lead the development of the service, into a specialist (MBT) Mentalisation Based Therapy group treatment programme alongside the clinical lead.

Bluebell House welcomes applications from either mental health nursing, occupational therapy or social work with relevant clinical experience.

We also welcome applicants who have previous experience working with people with personality disorders and who hold an additional accreditation in MBT or a willingness to train, practice and be supervised in this model.

Main duties of the job

As Team Leader you will play an active leadership role in the ongoing operational development of the service, in line with the broader West Sussex Personality Disorder pathway development work. You will work closely with the Clinical lead in the delivery of this and the day to day running of the service.

Bluebell House is developing an MBT group-based programme for people who experience complex emotional difficulties and relational trauma. We work collaboratively with our service users to enable them to understand more about themselves and their relationships, to find the courage to face challenges and to learn to live with new confidence, strength and kindness. You will be fully supported and empowered to make a difference and to creatively develop new ways of working. The successful applicant will be offered regular supervision, reflective practice and access to relevant training including (MBT) to support professional development.

Bluebell House is based in a dedicated building on the Horsham Hospital site and takes referrals from across North West Sussex.

Person Specification

Essential
  • Educated to minimum diploma level with a relevant qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of CPD

Knowledge/Experience
  • Significant experience of and demonstrable achievement in clinical practice
  • Experience of providing professional support/supervision and motivation of staff
  • Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance
  • Experience of managing staff

Desirable
  • A flexible approach with a strong commitment to working and leading a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experienced at working in mental health services with people with complex emotional needs, their families and carers and associated services
  • Experience of therapeutic group work
  • Interested in developing your career within a specialist service. This post requires flexibility and a willingness to integrate your professional knowledge, skills and experience within the service using an Mentalisation Based Therapy approach

It would also be advantageous if you have:
  • Experience of working with people with a diagnosis of personality disorder
  • An interest in contributing to service development as we integrate MBT
  • Training in MBT

Working hours are 9 - 5pm Monday to Friday and our Clinical days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays
