Are you an experienced band 5 or an existing band 6 Social Worker with a passion for promoting recovery in a mental health setting?

The Specialist Treatment and Recovery Service (STaRS) and Millview Court are looking to recruit a Band 6 Social Worker to join their established Multi-Disciplinary Teams. The post will be split across the two teams.

The social worker is key in ensuring people's needs are considered against legal frameworks such as Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Care Act 2014 through the provision of high quality assessment and care planning with the person at the centre.

The successful candidate will work alongside the STaRS Multi-Disciplinary Team, in both the inpatient facility (a five bedded, mixed ward) and in the community (client's homes and third sector providers) to support service users in their recovery.

Millview Court is a fifteen bedded mixed sex acute treatment unit for working age adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

The team is Multi-Disciplinary providing holistic and person centred care and support

The Social Worker will work flexibly in line with rosters and shift patterns.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will develop the Social Worker role and support the recruitment and supervision of others to enhance multi-disciplinary working. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, with interests and skills in complex recovery with both an inpatient and community focus. There will also be opportunities to play a significant role to mould and lead the continuing development of the services.

The candidate is expected to have a high level of clinical and professional knowledge of value recovery-focussed interventions that facilitate and enable people to fulfil their optimum level of recovery, using knowledge around effective evidence-based strategies.

The post holder will be managed by the Team Manager, and professionally supervised by an Advanced Social Worker.

The successful applicant needs to have the ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have previous experience and training for this post or be willing and motivated to work towards obtaining further qualification/experience. The successful candidate will be put on the appropriate salary pay point based on their previous experience in the role or similar role. If you do not have appropriate training we are open to the development of staff. You will be encouraged to engage in your professional development needs.
