Are you looking for a career supporting people recover from an eating disorder?Would you like to be part of a dedicated team committed to helping service users and their carers in the recovery journey?

This permanent post is based on the Haldon, an inpatient ward for eating disorder in Exeter.

You will be a registered professional with experience of working with eating disorders, and keen to move into a more senior post providing line supervision of junior staff.

We encourage applications from people who wish to work on a flexible basis, recognising that flexibility may mean a range of different working patterns and hours, we do our utmost to work with our staff to meet their needs and the needs of our service users.

Main duties of the job

To provide leadership and management to the ward and clinical team

To provide evidenced based professional support and advice to the multi-disciplinary team

To lead and promote education and staff development for the continued professionalgrowth of the team members and students

To ensure the delivery of high standards of nursing care in accordance with evidencebased professional practice, policies and procedures

Ensure legislation policies and procedures are implemented and staff have access tothese and an understanding of their use

Manage allocated budget ensuring resources are efficiently and effectively used andmaintained

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Registration as an RMN
  • Demonstrates evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
Desirable
  • Relevant Degree or Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Training / Teaching qualification i.e. Mentors 998
Experience Essential
  • Experience of leading, supporting and developing teams
  • Clinical understanding of issues relating to the care of people with an Eating Disorder
  • Experience of providing supervision and support to staff and students
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Recognise performances issues on the ward and how to address them
  • Motivated to promote highest standards in a changing service
