An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join the Neath Port Talbot Community Resource Team, within Swansea Bay University Health Board

The post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work collaboratively within an integrated multi-disciplinary team. They will provide leadership and management to a team of occupational therapists and provide specialist assessment, goal directed intervention and rehabilitation to patients in the community setting.

The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including a 7 day shift pattern, with extended working hours covering 365 days of the year.

Main duties of the job

The role will be responsible for the management and development of the service as well as maintaining a clinical caseload. A commitment to collaborative working with the MDT is essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and clinical skills, along withexperience of service development and quality improvement.

To provide leadership and supervision to the team of occupational therapists and generic assistant staff. To motivate and inspire the team through change management and service development and work in line with HR policies as and when required.

To manage a defined caseload within specialist area, using evidence based /client centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of intervention where appropriate. To organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.

To ensure clinical records are kept to agreed standards and report accurately to others.

To work in partnership with clients, carers and all stake holders including the multidisciplinary/ multi agency team to identify relevant goals.To provide leadership and supervision for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor /team leader.

To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in developmental activities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
