Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is currently looking for an enthusiastic qualified Counsellor to join their IAPT services and deliver Psychological therapies in Manchester.

Main duties of the job

The post available is for an appropriately qualified Counsellor. The Counsellor will be part of an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) pathway located within Psychological Therapies Services providing clinical interventions to local populations.The post holder will work with clients who have a range of Anxiety and Depression related problems collaboratively using evidence based intervention. The post holder will work with the diverse residents of Manchester, which includes people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.The posts offer an unparalleled opportunity to consolidate clinical skills in relation to a wide range of presenting, and sometimes complex issues. You will join a friendly and supportive team ofPsychological Therapists/Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors, Cognitive Behaviour Therapists and IAPT Therapists delivering psychological assessments and psychological therapies in South Manchester. The team is also supported by Mental Health Practitioners.You will need to be flexible and adaptable, responding to the fluctuating needs of the local population and the changing demands of the national IAPT performance framework. As part of our drive to improve access to therapy some evening working is anticipated.There are excellent opportunities for continuing professional development and clinical supervision.
