Raglan House is a 25 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation hospital for women.

Main duties of the job

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant the role involves planning and implementing activities as a therapeutic medium under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist.You will also be supported by the Occupational Therapy team at Raglan House

The post holder will be offered support and guidance to utilise standardised assessments and implement structured groups. In this role you will work within an MDT (which consists of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Medical and Social Work) to support recovery and rehabilitation for service users at Raglan House

Salary: £23,000 per Annum FTE

Base: Raglan House, Raglan Road, Smethwick, West Midlands. B66 3ND

Hours: 20 - 25 hours per week

Overview of site/Ward:

Raglan House is a 25 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation hospital for women. The service is designed to provide an environment that promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity. The occupational therapy department has qualified OTs, as well as Therapy Coordinators. Our environment is rehabilitation-focused and includes a gym, sensory room, IT caf, beauty salon and other therapeutic spaces.

The service focuses on continuing practicing life skills and coping strategies. We concentrate on community based activities, the use of public transport, education and vocational therapy, job placements, work experience and development of hobbies and interests.

The team consists of doctors, psychologist, psychology assistants, occupational therapists, as well as 24/7 support from the nursing team (nursing and support workers). This means that we are able to meet the changing needs of our residents as they progress through their care pathway, while ensuring their safety is maintained and their independence supported
