We are looking to recruit a passionate a Senior Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist/ Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. You would be joining a dynamic management team and support the service in delivering the main KPIs by providing creative leadership in your specialist area and supporting the performance and development of a small team of therapists under your direct line management.

You would oversee the service provision of CBT including waiting list management and clinical supervision. You would also oversee research initiatives and be the service lead for subject access requests.

You would also hold a small caseload of face-to-face clients and offer the majority of your clinical work via video and telephone. Currently our staff are attending our clinical buildings one day a week and then working the rest of the week at home, this would be continually reviewed in line with our clinical demands.

Main duties of the job

This post is offered as permanent (full time), with the expectation that all clinical staff work one late evening per week (12pm until 8pm). We would consider flexi and part time applications.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • HCPC registered Counselling or Clinical Psychologist OR Psychological Therapist with HI qualification equal to Masters level or core mental health training e.g. nursing, social work.
  • BABCP provisional/ full accreditation
Experience Essential
  • Experience of working with clients presenting with PTSD: single and complex trauma.
  • Experience of managing and/or coordinating wait lists
  • Experience of working in an IAPT setting, or delivering treatment to primary care clients, liaising and consulting with GPs and community providers
  • Experience in managing and delivering to the expected performance targets
  • Excellence and experience in IT and diary management that support own and the service's clinical resources
Knowledge Essential
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills and to provide & receive complex, sensitive or contentious information in a highly emotive and sometimes hostile atmosphere, in a range of relationships and settings
  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, government/advisory body frameworks, and guidelines relating to mental health
  • Able to plan, organise and prioritise a complex workload
  • Knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis.
  • Able to be flexible and adapt approach according to need
Supervision Essential
  • Supervision training: IAPT course or other appropriate supervision course
  • Experience of supervising other's clinical work.
  • Able to organize and deliver teaching and training.
