SEDS is going through an exciting programme of expansion. An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 dietician (depending on experience) to join the SEDS Service. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments and aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.

Previous experience of working in an eating disorder service is desirable but not necessary, as we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities. The post will be supervised by a senior member of the team and professional supervision will be available.

Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area. This post is predominately based in East Sussex. With the introduction of remote working, there is scope, where possible, to tailor your working pattern/location to the needs of both the service and you.

To protect the health and safety of our staff/workers, patients, and those attending our sites, we encourage our workforce to get fully vaccinated against COVID.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities of the role:
  • To provide nutrition and dietetic assessment and intervention to adults receiving support from the SEDS team.
  • To be responsible for a small complex clinical caseload.
  • Establish strong relationships with the local general hospitals
  • Network and develop working relationships with relevant staff to champion best practice in Eating Disorders as per MARSIPAN/ NICE guidelines.
  • Liaise closely with professional colleagues to develop relationships and support patient liaison and care pathways.
  • In collaboration with colleagues within the service identify and develop training resources related to dietetic care. Where required, plan and deliver training, and offer specialist consultation to the wider services.
  • Undertake development of dietetic resources to enhance the psychoeducational and clinical requirements of the service.
