The Older People’s Mental Health Inpatient Services based at the Western Community Hospital has 2 wards, Berrywood is our functional ward and Beaulieu is our organic ward.

We currently have vacancies available on both wards.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Mental Health Older Persons inpatient service. You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) , we also welcome applicants from Learning Disability Nurses (LD) and Registered Nurses (RN) and you are able to demonstrate continuing professional development, effective generic nursing skills and the confidence to meet the requirements of a Band 5 position working with older people.

You will be joining an established and supportive multi-disciplinary team that is committed to delivering high quality, patient centred care.

You will be working closely with other professionals in the team and external agencies you will provide evidence based nursing interventions, including aspects of care ranging from initial assessment, treatment monitoring, delivery of therapeutic interventions, and positive behaviour support and discharge.

You will have the on going opportunity to develop your skills within the wider team in relation to the care of patients experiencing Functional illness such as depression & anxiety, you will be supported through supervision and on- going professional development opportunities.
