The Emergency & Acute Medicine Directorate is looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic registered nurses to come and join our team within the Medical Emergency Assessment Unit (MEAU).

The MEAU is the first point of contact for medical admissions to University Hospital of Llandough, just outside of Cardiff in the Vale of Glamorgan. The department sees over 14,000 attendances per year, and treats patients with acute medical conditions referred via the Emergency and GP referral stream.

Main duties of the job

The Emergency Care environments are challenging but rewarding environments with opportunities to develop and extend the knowledge and skills required to care for patients with a wide range of conditions. To enhance your learning, you will be supported by a practice development team.

You will be actively encouraged to undertake further study to enhance your knowledge and skills in this interesting and fulfilling environment. If you welcome the opportunity to provide excellent patient care in a challenging and rewarding environment then this opportunity is for you.
