We are excited to be advertising for a new Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry role as part of the new SAS contract in the NHS for 2021.

The post is based with our Older Adults Home Treatment Team.

The Older Adult Home Treatment Team provides a citywide service to the older adult population of Sheffield. The Home Treatment Team currently respond to approximately 340 referrals per year of which about 20% are seen by medical staff during the treatment episode.

The CMHT is the single point of access to the wider service. Referrals for the assessment of uncomplicated dementia or memory problems are directed to the Memory Service. Referrals for people who are experiencing crisis or other difficulties (ie not routine) are directed to the Older Adult Home Treatment Team. Other referrals (other cases of dementia and functional mental health cases) are seen by the CMHT professionals as appropriate. Referrals from the general hospitals are seen by the Liaison Service.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a motivated and committed individual who has completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

The post holder will be provided with the opportunity to achieve a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
