Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Southampton Older Peoples Mental Health team is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic practitioner to join our local Community Mental Health Team. The post involves working in West Southampton providing skilled assessment & treatment interventions to older people living with mental health problems. The post is based at Western Community Hospital, Southampton.

To be a successful member of our team you will need to be a registered mental health nurse with experience in the care of older people with mental health problems. You must have a genuine interest in working with older people and be able to demonstrate a real commitment to providing high quality and compassionate care to patients and their families. You must be an enthusiastic, skilled and flexible practitioner who can support a busy highly motivated team. You will play an important role in the team as we aspire to provide excellent patient care and develop our services in line with national and local drivers. The role will consist of supporting people living in care homes and being an in-reach nurse.

There is a strong multidisciplinary focus within the teams and you will be integral to the implementation of programmes of care and evaluating and communicating effectively with other parts of the service. You will also be expected to provide supervision to junior members of the team and mentorship responsibility to support student nurse learning. A full driving license is required.
