Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
Crisis Home Treatment Team (East & West localities)
St. George’s Hospital, Stafford and St. Michael’s Court, Lichfield
Full time, Permanent Post
Band 8b (fewer hours could be considered)
The Staffordshire Crisis Home Treatment Team (CRHT), are based across two locations in South Staffordshire; St. George’s Hospital, Stafford and St. Michael’s Court, Lichfield.
The CRHT provide an urgent response and a comprehensive Mental Health Assessment to people who are presenting in an acute Mental Health Crisis, and Home Treatment to those people requiring a period of short term intensive intervention.
The Team are looking to recruit a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist at the grade of Agenda for Change 8b. This is a newly created fulltime post and is the first permanent qualified Psychology post within the CRHT and reflects MPFT’s ‘psychological expansion’ across all of the Urgent Care Pathways. Consequently, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to develop the post from the ground up to meet the psychological needs of service users, their carers and families and your multidisciplinary colleagues working alongside you in the service.
The East and West CRHTs are both well established and friendly teams and they work in offering short-term intensive intervention, Home Treatment, and prevention of hospital admission. The role will consist of direct clinical work, working alongside service users and their carers and families as well as the multi-disciplinary team and wider partners, to offer strong clinical leadership particularly with managing Complex and challenging situations.
Whilst the successful candidate will be expected to work between the two geographical sites, flexible working will be supported where possible. The successful candidate can also expect to be well supported and receive regular managerial, clinical and professional supervision. The Midland’s Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is a very progressive Trust for Psychology staff and the successful candidate will also be well supported by a rich network of psychological clinicians of all grades across Mental Health Psychological Services. MPFT is also highly supportive of providing CPD opportunities for its staff.
Please note that in the current climate, interviews will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams.
