This is an exciting opportunity working 22.5 hours per week (0.6wte) for a Band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist with a special interest in working with older people. You will be based with the Torbay Community Older Person’s Mental Health Team and managed within the Older Adult Psychology and Psychological Therapies Team.

We are a friendly and active speciality that provides a range of services across Devon Partnership Trust to the Older People’s Mental Health directorate within the community, inpatient settings and the Devon Memory Service.

You will provide assessment, formulation, and therapy for older people, as well work with the team to offer consultation and reflective practice.

About you
We welcome applicants who may be newly qualified or who are new to the specialty and we can offer enhanced support for you to reach your potential and develop your skills in this area. We also offer supervision and reflective groups alongside other opportunities for CPD and professional development.

The Psychology and Psychological Therapies Service supports close links between psychology staff and the two local DClinPsy training courses in Devon. We also currently provide placements for Counselling Psychology Trainees. There may be opportunities for the post holder to contribute to clinical placements.

The location
Your base will be in Torbay, however under the current COVID-19 conditions this may be subject to alternative arrangements/change for example home working.
