We have exciting opportunities for senior registered nurse ready to take up a key leadership role as a ward manager within Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust

We are seeking visible, highly motivated, innovative and committed individuals to continue to lead and develop the dedicated team of nursing and support staff in the delivery of excellence in nursing care.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to display compassionate, collective leadership and a sound understanding of nursing care within an assessment and intermediate care rehabilitation ward this includes both Physical and Mental Health rehabilitation. Both require passion for rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of compassionate, safe and high quality care delivery of all patients in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards.

The Ward Manager has a pivotal role in ensuring the caring environment is conducive to wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors and the effective delivery of budgetary, workforce and resource management is fundamental to the role.

The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the nursing team. Be a professional role model to encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally and achieve their maximum potential.

Manage and develop the performance of the team and be responsible for safer staffing.

Contribute to the delivery of the organisational objectives and the Trust’s nursing strategy.

Co ordination of care within the multidisciplinary team. Work closely with all members of the multi disciplinary team.

Plan the direction of service provision and highlight potential issues before they arise.

Contribute to a collective leadership approach, working closely with the Hospital Matron and acting as deputy when required.

The Hospital provides community services both for inpatients and outpatients. You will be responsible for the overseeing of development, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans within the inpatient ward ensuring high quality care.

You will provide nursing care to your patients ensuring that patients are treated with dignity and respect. You will be able to promote a safe environment for patients and staff members and oversee the principles of safer staffing on the ward. You will also be responsible for presenting quality information at the Multidisciplinary meetings.

You must be a Registered Nurse with considerable post registration experience including experience at Band 6 level, recent experience with rehabilitation of older adults and stroke patients.

You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and have high clinical standards and to demonstrate at interview the ability to lead a team.
