This exciting opportunity is being advertised to work with the dynamic Older Adult Erewash Community Mental Health Team of Derbyshire Health Care Foundation Trust. The Trust has a dedicated OA pathway.

As the teams consultant you will be working with an established MDT and will have the opportunity to support closer Derbyshire place based mental health care for Older adults.

As consultant you will work closely with the Non-Medical Prescriber, the CMHT and the Trust's dedicated OA In-Reach and Home Treatment team to support people over 65 years living in Erewash and people diagnosed with Dementia.

The Trust is also supported by inpatient beds and OA dedicated psychiatric liaison staff in the Acute general hospitals that support the Erewash community.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will take a key role in Older Adult mental Health services, providing clinical leadership to the teams with which they will be working and supporting current and future service developments.

They will be contracted to Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and as a consequence will be expected to be aware of policies and procedures and take note of the standing orders and financial instructions of the Trust.

This includes adherence to the Care Programme Approach - the essential framework in which all psychiatric management is conducted.

This post offers varied work experience working closely with the multidisciplinary team in the community.

We put a high emphasis on quality of care, peer support and on clinical engagement in service development and management.

We welcome candidates who will bring an enthusiasm for innovation, teaching and development and can work closely with colleagues from different professional backgrounds.

You will be expected to form part of the South County OA on-call support system as per rota.

The older adult service line is well established within the trust and there is a clear pathway for patients with dementia that follows the NHS dementia pathway.

The trust has a Derbyshire wide Community mental health team cover and diagnosis education sessions through our day service.

The Trust facilitates Dementia Question and Answer sessions within our Derbyshire community.

There is also a clear pathway for over 65's within the service line and wider place based service of Erewash, Derbyshire.
