West Cheshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) 0-18 Team is a therapy based service working with children & young people their families & carers to provide mental health and systemic interventions. You will be art of the multi-disciplinary Team, and will have the opportunity to undertake training to further enhance your therapeutic skills

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will work as part of the CAMHS multi professional team, and will be able to offer a range of evidenced based interventions to children & young people presenting with moderate to severe mental health issues.

A clear understanding and experience of mental health issues and working with children & young people is required for this senior post .

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Core profession (Social Care, Nursing, Allied Health Professional, and Clinical Psychologists) OR
  • recognised degree level broad based health & social care qualification which will require completion of The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) Knowledge Skills and Attributes https://www.babcp.com/Accreditation/CBP/KS A.aspx KSA Accreditation profiles
  • oProfessional registration with recognised National Body (HCPC, NMC, BACP,BABCP BASW, TRA) or be able to become accredited with a professional such as e.g. BABCP this within 12 months of appointment
Desirable
  • Teaching, Mentoring qualification
  • Therapeutic Training to intermediate / diploma level
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • Working knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Family Therapy
  • Knowledge of Child Protection workings and Practice
  • Working knowledge of Children related legislation
  • Experience of inter-agency working
  • Experience of writing, implementing and evaluating Care / Treatment Plans
Desirable
  • Experience of working with Students/Learners
  • Experience of providing clinical supervision
Experience Essential
  • Post qualification experience of working within a CAMHs or Child Mental Health related field.
  • Recognised Experience of working with a specific therapeutic approach. E.g. CBT, Family Therapy, SFBT.
  • Undertaking formal and informal Clinical Risk assessments
  • Undertaking Mental Health Assessments
  • Keyboard skills, including using databases, Microsoft Office and clinical systems
Desirable
  • Post qualifying experience of working within NHS community CAMHS
