Primary Care Occupational Therapist Band 7

Full AND part-time hours! Hours do include some weekend / evening working as part of the PN standard hours.

We've had a successful first phase of recruitment into the Primary Care Networks Occupational Therapy service, with 8 Occupational Therapists now appointed. Our next phase hopes to extend by a further 4 over another 4 PCNs across the County of Somerset in either: Bridgwater, Mendip, South Somerset West (Crewkerne) and Yeovil, Taunton.

Mendip PCN information found here!

You may be working in a person's home, clinic, in the community or using virtual appointments to offer flexible and accessible provision.

As a developing service there is plenty of opportunity to use or develop your leadership and clinical skills. You will be supported via regular supervision with our Professional Lead OT, peer network and a Community of practice to share learning and ensure development needs are met.

Posts are matched to a PCN so you become part of the Primary Care team, at the same time as enjoying Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions and a strong support of peers who are developing and delivering similar services. Relocation package is applicable for these roles.

We anticipate interviews to be held in October 2022.

Main duties of the job

We are supporting development with our Occupational Therapists to complete the HEE FCP roadmap for OT either through taught or portfolio routes.

Imagine an Occupational Therapy role where you're able to work as part of a multi-professional team, where your unique skills and contribution are valued and where you can use the full suite of your Core Occupational Therapy skills to both co-create and deliver Occupational Therapy in a team who are focused on maximising health, wellbeing and independence.

These roles will be based in our Primary Care networks who will offer your operational support; Professional support is delivered by Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

We believe these roles will be instrumental in achieving the best outcomes for the people living in our communities and would welcome applications for B7 roles (see JD)

They will work collaboratively with the PCN's multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to meet the needs of individuals and carers, support the delivery of new policy and procedures, and provide Occupational Therapy leadership as required.

Our service and roles are embedded in Primary Care Multi Disciplinary Teams, focussed on prevention and are in addition to existing provision; although working in close partnership with Neighbourhood services. You will receive support to network into local teams and networks, and may use cutting edge risk stratification tools such as Brave AI.
