Musculoskeletal Advanced Physiotherapist Band 7 - Clinical Champion

Band 7

37.5 hours (Part time considered minimum 30 hours)

The North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (NIMS) are looking to recruit a full time 1.0 WTE experienced Physiotherapist to a new, innovative dual role. The post holder will play a leading role in championing clinical leadership within the Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) MSK team with support from the service Clinical Leads and Operational Leads. MPFT is a large, integrated NHS organisation and by becoming part of our team you will be well supported and empowered to deliver services consistent with our Trust values. This dual role will require you to work with our established clinical champion team across all the Staffordshire MSK services to fulfil your clinical champion element and the clinical MSK outpatient work (2 days minimum) will be in the North Staffordshire area in Bentilee Neighbourhood Centre.

As a clinical champion you will support the MSK physiotherapy team with the development of clinical, educational, leadership and research skills. You will have supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities for physiotherapy within and across the MSK Services and be expected to build working relationships with peer Clinical Champions, Clinical Leads and Operational Leads. You will collaborate with and work alongside colleagues within MPFT including Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APP), extended scope podiatrists and the Pain management team to promote trust values, improve standardisation and improve the patient experience. Clinical champions will develop, maintain and promote a proactive, positive culture within the team and encourage an open, safe learning style.

The post holders will have a clinical caseload where they operate at an advanced level of clinical practice, with clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage MSK problems and undifferentiated conditions. Applicants must have relevant postgraduate MSK training and experience at a senior level within the NHS as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The post holder will be expected to participate in evaluating the service, audit and research.

The clinical hours for this post will be based at Bentilee Neighbourhood Centre and you will need to be flexible and able to travel to work in various locations across the Trust, North and South, as the service requires. This post will include lone working and may include the possibility to work from home.
