This role is an opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join the integrated pain team at Broomfield Hospital. It entails working closely with the multidisciplinary members, accepting referrals from consultants and other clinicians within the pain team for assessment and management of complex chronic pain.
Using specialised skills in the field of educating and advising individuals presenting with chronic pain conditions, the post requires psychologically informed approach and a high level of understanding of the pathophysiology of chronic pain conditions.
You will be involved in regular multidisciplinary team meetings, joint working with colleagues with opportunity for supervision and training.
Main duties of the job
To work within trust clinical guidelines and to have a good working knowledge of national and local standards and monitor own and others quality of practice as appropriate.
To comply with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. To comply with Health and Progressions Council (HCPC) Standards of proficiency for Physiotherapists, and standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
Work autonomously to provide assessment, management and caseload of complex pain patients working within a biopsychosocial approach.
To support people in improving their function and living well with pain and strategies to manage persistent conditions
Education of staff and patients
To be an active participant in multidisciplinary meetings and team meetings
Mentorship and supervision of junior staff members
Assessment, participation and development of the multidisciplinary pain management programme
Supporting, and where required, leading the day to day running of the pain physiotherapy service
Collaborative working within the pain team and wider MSE pain team
Participation in service review based on audit, feedback and development
