An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, innovative individual to join the Hospital 24-7 team as a Band 7 Hospital Coordinator. The individual must be a first level registered General Nurse/ODP with the ability to demonstrate excellent leadership and management experience. They will work towards being responsible for management of the patient transfers and emergency admissions process, safe and appropriate patient placement, and in partnership with other members of the Trust, the achievement of related Trust targets. Responsibility for the operational management of the Trusts Out of Hours service.

Main duties of the job

To undertake patient assessment, advising on immediate care, or referral for medical intervention, as coordinator of the Hospital at Night team, ensuring prompt and effective management of patients. To undertake a wide range of advanced clinical interventions, which includes administering medication under Patient Group Directions, and providing Advanced Life Support. To support staff in the management and care of critically ill / highly dependant patients, within the ward environment. To monitor bed occupancy across the trust as a whole. To co-ordinate and assess the transfer of patients through the inpatient system to allow for sufficient capacity and safe placement of emergency admissions. The immediate co-ordination and first line management of the trusts emergency response to Fire, Major Incidents, Security Alerts, and other critical incidents. Liaising with on call manager / neighbouring trusts / external agencies as required.

  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Band 7 Registered Nurse Degree in nursing or ODP management and leadership experience
