An exciting opportunity for a band 6 senior Physiotherapist to support us over the winter months to reduce the winter pressures and work in the Olympic Lodge at Stoke Mandeville Hospital for a fixed term of 5 months has arisen.
Olympic Lodge is a 22 bedded unit for those patients that are MFFD and don't need to be in an acute bed and awaiting discharge. Patients are admitted with a wide variety of conditions. The multi-disciplinary team work closely together with social services and other external agencies for a safe and effective planned discharge for each patient.Service development and supervision are supported by Advanced Physiotherapists for Physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
To perform assessment and treatment for patients with complex needs, and to provide advice, guidance and information to health and social care professionals, carers and relatives and other non professionals.To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.To participate in continuing professional and service development and contribute to organisational objectives

- Current registration with Health Professions Council
- Diploma /Degree in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio

- Specific formal courses appropriate to post speciality

- Field work/clinical educators course
EXPERIENCE

- Experience of a junior rotational Physiotherapy post in the NHS
- Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning
- Experience in student clinical supervision.
- Knowledge of areas of influence of psychosocial and cultural factors on health/illness behaviours
- Experience in supervision of junior staff
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice
- Knowledge and application of evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning
- Participation in audit, research activities and development activities
- Establish and maintain CPD portfolio
- Experience of undertaking Senior (Band 6) role
