We are looking for a dynamic Senior QIS Neonatal nurse to join us at the Royal Berkshire hospital as a Unit Manager, to help drive change and support in the forward planning of the neonatal service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional role model who will be able to lead and co-ordinate the nursing team whilst being accountable for the overall provision for excellent nursing care.

We are a busy local neonatal unit supporting a maternity unit that has 5,000 deliveries per year. We have 2 intensive care, 6 high dependency and 8 special care cots and support a 5 bedded Transitional care unit.

Main duties of the job

To be clinically and managerially responsible for the provision of appropriate staffing levels and skill mix

To ensure effective management of the 16 cots and 5 Transitional care cots within our LNU.

To be competent in the delivery and supervision of a high quality nursing care across all areas of the neonatal service.

To be an excellent leader, communicator, educator and innovator to progress the development of the team and the neonatal service.

To provide senior nurse leadership and deputise in the absence of the Lead Nurse/Matron.

To provide a safe and supportive environment for staff, babies and relatives.

To ensure all staff work towards the trust vision and personally uphold the trust values.

Demonstrate kindness and respect to all members of the MDT and role model the leadership behavioural framework.
