We are looking for a self-motivated and reliable individual, with a positive can-do attitude. You must be a time served Mobile Estates Technician with experience working on reactive breakdowns, planned maintenance, minor/project works within a healthcare (or similar) building environment.
A genuine multi-trade hard services background is essential, with any previous mechanical/electrical/building/plumbing and gas training/practise an essential for the role. Any prior electrical competency training is a value-add skill for the role. You will play a proactive role within a dynamic and innovative department, delivering key objectives to meet both departmental and Trust requirements.
You will work in our friendly, high performing Estates team across Berkshire, ensuring excellent service at all times. A great communicator, you will enjoy working in collaboration with the Estates Supervisor and colleagues of the Estates team.
Working flexibly, you will benefit from working across multiple sites in Berkshire and be able to travel independently, whilst transporting any tools and equipment, as required to meet the requirements of the role. Your energy and drive will be rewarded with the support of a dedicated team that strives to create a progressive, warm, friendly and considerate environment.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours + on call stipend after 2 months (on call attracts additional payments of approximately £5,200/annum) + occasional overtime (as scheduled).

1. Relevant Qualifications with City Guilds or HNC apprenticeship or NVQ equivalent
2.Must have completed recognised apprenticeship in mechanical/ electrical/ building engineering, or plumbing
3. Significant and relevant post apprenticeship work experience of at least 5 years
4. Good knowledge of Plant and Machinery over wide range of skills, e.g. Boilers, air conditioning, fire alarms, medical gases, sterilisers, nurse call systems and other equipment

Main duties of the job
- Ensure that repair requisitions/requests are dealt with expeditiously in keeping with quality standards and the client is advised of the current status. Oversee and advise the estates team on complex plant breakdowns and lead on recommendations for resolutions.
- To ensure that the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activity is carried out by the Estates team as specified. Compliance issues will include Legionella prevention, scalding risks, portable appliance testing, fire alarm systems, fire extinguisher testing, lifts, electrical boilers and building fabric.
- To accurately record time and materials used on each job on the MICAD Helpdesk (HD) software module through the Trust-issued hand-held device in accordance with guidance and instruction provided.
- Implement and work from instructions, drawings and specifications without supervision, and ensure others in the team do the same.
- Diagnose complex faults across the estate. Use analytical skills, judgement and industry best practices to rectify and resolve the issues.
- Manufacture, assemble, erect and install new work.
- The post-holder is to ensure that their works are completed to a high standard ensuring that all finishing and making good of disturbed work is undertaken before being closed off. To achieve this, the post-holder must be able to demonstrate a wide range of practical construction and maintenance related skills (painting, carpentry, minor flooring repairs, etc).
