Join our Pharmacy team as a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician. You'll collaborate with the lead pharmacist to develop and grow the high-cost drugs (HCD) and homecare service, serving over 2000 patients.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and developing the homecare service
  • Liaising with stakeholders (finance, homecare companies, pharmacy colleagues, clinical teams, commissioners)
  • Ensuring efficient HCD stock management
  • Implementing systems for accurate monthly commissioning reports

Contractual Requirements

Essential

  • Regular attendance.
  • Ability to work weekends / bank holidays / late nights

  • Car owner with current driving licence
  • Telephone owner


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge within a specialism
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures
  • Knowledge and experience of pharmacy homecare services and high cost drugs


Qualifications

Essential

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training, NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent
  • Other additional training for checking dispensed prescriptions, supervising a technical area within the pharmacy to degree or equivalent level or Knowledge of medicines management, including relevant legislation and policies acquired through NVQ3 or BTEC equivalent level qualification plus specialist training and experience to degree or equivalent level
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council


Desirable

  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English, and Science
  • GCSE Grade A or B in maths (or equivalent)
  • Clinical Qualification in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Essential

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development


Experience

Essential

  • Significant hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Excellent IT / Keyboard Skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel


Desirable

  • Supervisory Ability
  • Training ability
  • Accreditation for checking dispensed prescriptions of others or equivalence supervisory experience
  • Experience of database use
