The Respiratory Department has a vacancy for a fixed term Band 5 Service Coordinator to work as part of the Respiratory team at Watford General and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals. Experienced and committed, you will provide an efficient and comprehensive line-management of A& C staff and support to management and the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant will need to have a good general level of education with experience of line management and possess the essential qualifications outlined in the attached Person Specification.

This is a maternity cover for 9 months, at 31 hours per week. With the core working hours to be between 0800 and 1700.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job include but not exclusive to:

Line management, including sickness, appraisals, mandatory training and annual leave

Day to day operational management

Support the ADM and ASM for the service

Recruitment

Implementing new processes and ways of working

Support the MDT team

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with the management team, admin staff and the medical team. Overseeing the day to day running of the Respiratory service across both sites (WGH/HHGH). The core hours will be between 0800-1700, this can be discussed further at interview.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications:

Essential

  • Education to A' level, or equivalent experience - good literacy and numeracy skills.


Desirable

  • Education to degree level.


Knowledge:

Essential

  • Good basic education including Maths and English


Desirable

  • ECDL Educated to degree level or equivalent experience


Experience:

Essential

  • Extensive experience of managing a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Knowledge of 18 week Referral to treatment guidelines, including validation.
  • Knowledge of Cancer targets
  • Knowledge of 6 week diagnostic guidelines


Desirable

  • Knowledge of Cerner
